Though I appreciate all the tools but I wish there was a clear workflow or guidance as to when to use each tool. I am not a fan of how DT lays out tools (nor am I a fan of how RT lays their our as well). Filmic of course is a replacement for that base curve. Once I found how to adjust base curves I got much better looking images. I prefer the default color rendition of RT over DT. I hardly use it because it's just almost messing up my picture rather than enhancing it. I'm having difficulties using the module as is. What do you dislike about darktable it's layout? Have you looked at darktable 2.7? There are a couple of filmic module tutorials out there. Not sure if you have a tutorial on the module just yet but from what I seen it is a huge reason to use DT even if just as a second developer. I like RawTherapee but the recent release of the "Filmic" module really gives DT an edge. Unfortunately the layout is not all that great and the defaults (especially in DT) are not all that great and can be a bit of a turn off. Do you guys like these tutorials or would you rather see more in depth tutorials on specific modules?īoth Darktable and RawTherapee are great pieces of software. In this tutorial I'm showing you guys how to recreate the Schindlers List look! In the meantime, here is my newest tutorial: I just dropped a new tutorial on how to create a polaroid effect! Feel free to leave some feedback!ĭo you guys like my tutorials and/or like it when I post them in this thread? Please let me know! I'll more than likely look at it one day when I'm ready for alternate software. Just wanted to point out there were no actual price increases but I'm not trying to turn this into that type of thread and would prefer not to continue with that. For free because I create darktable tutorials (my way of pitching in). Darktable has a pretty strong community, one of their members build me the 2.7 beta version for windows. One of the developers called Aurelien has a patreon that people can donate money on for him. They programmers work on darktable in their free time. Thank you for your questions! Darktable is being pushed lately due to Adobe raising their prices. You probably can't answer and if you don't want to that is fine. I'm just wondering where the revenue is coming from for all of this? I have noticed a significant push for DT on many sites more than likely a response to Adobe doing stupid things. I went to the site and there is no advertising. It is free and there are multiple videos available. I know people like it and feedback is good. If you have suggestions for tutorials, feel free to let me know ! Thank you for replying, I appreciate that. Thanks for the link! I love Darktable and would like to learn more about its features since I plan to use it more often especially since I don't want to vest further into Adobe CC. I love the interaction with fellow photography enthusiasts! If you have questions about darktable, suggestions for tutorials or would just like to have a chat, let me know. That way you guys can watch them if you like, get a reminder and the forums won't be flooded with posts. If allowed, I'll update this post with my tutorials after I've uploaded one. The tutorials are ment to be creative and practical for you guys. The darktable playlist can be found here: These videos are being uploaded to YouTube every Sunday at 19:30CET. My name is Rico, and I create photo editing tutorials in darktable. Since I'm new to the forum, let me introduce myself first.
